new years resolutions

I’m not much of a resolution kind of person, (that’s a total lie I am a compulsive list-maker) but these are just some personal goals and things for me to keep in mind, which I thought I might as well share.
  • Tell strangers when I think they look pretty or cool or I’m just loving their vibe. It makes my entire life when it happens to me, so I should start doing it to other people. Also to do this to people online, as I’m really bad at reaching out to people I think are amazingly cool.
  • Work out what I need to do in my life to make me happy, and do it. Not to work towards a full time job that pays well but ultimately makes me ill, but to do what will make me happy and fulfilled in the long run.
  • Do stand up more.
  • Keep up my progress with body positivity/fat acceptance. This includes showing a picture of my belly online, which is something I’d love to do but I just don’t have the nerve.
  • Wear sleeveless tops in summer (big deal for me), no leggings or tights (eek!) and be proud of my VBO.
  • Don’t be too hard on myself.
  • Make lots of new friends (both off and online) that are body positive and just generally positive and uplifting people.
  • Go and see the pyramids. Alternatively disneyland.
  • Strive to be more analytic of the world around me, always be questioning, be willing to be called out, and always aware of my various privileges. Just to read more theory and always be learning how to be a better person. Try to say things that haven’t been said before, and articulate them in a way only I can do.
  • Eliminate all problematic language from my vocabulary.
  • Not to let any negative experiences from the last 12 months affect how I form relationships with people.
  • Appreciate that improving my mental health is a long process, and that it is the most important thing to put time and effort into. Try my best not to shut people out when things get tough, and just to be good to myself.
  • Learn to sew, and start to make myself amazing clothes.
  • Keep up being a badass.
